This policy explains what The Macro Market collects and why. The simulator, history replay and labs work without an account and without sending your slider settings to us.
Accounts
If you create an account we store your email, username, optional display name and school, a securely hashed password, saved scenarios and quiz results. If you join a teacher’s class, that teacher can see your username, display name and quiz scores. You can delete saved scenarios at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account through the contact page.
Students under 13
The tools can be used without an account. Children under 13 should only create an account with a parent’s or teacher’s permission, and should not use their full name as a username. Schools using class codes act on behalf of parents in accordance with their own policies. Contact us to remove a child’s account.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and may show ads through Google AdSense, which can use cookies to personalize ads. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Ads are not shown to logged-in teachers or inside the embeddable widget by default.

Some links to books and products are affiliate links (for example Amazon Associates or CJ). If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may set cookies to track referrals.
Data security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We don’t sell personal information.
